In the spring, news emerged that the Ipolytarnóc Fossils had a chance to continue holding the honorary title of European Diploma as part of the pan-European natural heritage.
Kornélia Szádeczky, Head of the Department of Ecotourism and Environmental Education of the Bükk National Park Directorate, announced that the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe had made its decision on September 23, extending the diploma until 2030.
The European Diploma is given to protected areas of European importance that are of outstanding scientific, natural, cultural or aesthetic value.
The Miocene Park of Ipolytarnóc Fossils is deservedly world-famous; people are welcome to visit the park Tuesday through Sunday until November 22nd. Thematic tours are also available.
