Eszterházy Károly University joins ITM mentoring program

Eszterházy Károly University in Eger has joined the Let Us Teach for Hungary program launched by the Ministry of Innovation and Technology (ITM).

State Secretary László György and Kálmán Liptai, Rector of Eszterházy Károly University in Eger, have signed a cooperation agreement for the institute to join the Let Us Teach for Hungary program.

“The program’s main goal is to help raise awareness of children in small settlements so that they will not be traumatized when they move into another community at the age of 14,” said György.

The mentors will work with four students each and will prepare for the task in hand during the spring of 2020, which will be followed by mentoring sessions in the autumn. Each mentor will receive a HUF 30,000 scholarship, HUF 10,000 reimbursement for expenses and a free travel card.

So far, the universities of Miskolc, Debrecen, Nyíregyháza and Pécs, as well as 35 small settlement schools, have joined the Let Us Teach for Hungary program.
