Economic cooperation between Hungary and Argentina is underway

There is no political dispute of any kind between the two countries.

In Buenos Aires, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó met with representatives of local companies interested in the Hungarian economy; he then also took part in a longer program with his Argentinean counterpart.

The minister said that Argentinian companies’ interest in Hungary is steadily growing, as it has the most investment-friendly environment in Europe and the lowest tax burden.

Last year, after an increase of about 80 percent, bilateral trade turnover reached a record high, exceeding USD 200 million, he said, adding that Hungary is seeing serious opportunities for economic cooperation.

Szijjártó announced the signing of an agreement that will allow 25 Argentine students to receive scholarships to higher education institutions in Hungary every year.
