Direct flights between Shanghai and Budapest resume

On November 11, Shanghai Airlines will restart direct scheduled passenger flights to Budapest.

The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft of the China Eastern subsidiary will initially fly once a week on Fridays to Budapest from Shanghai and back, starting November 11.

It plans to operate two weekly flights (Wednesday and Friday) from December 21, 2022, and three weekly flights (Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) from mid-January 2023.

The airline’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft operated several times a week to Budapest directly from Shanghai and via Xian and Chengdu from the summer of 2019 until the start of the pandemic, but operations were suspended in January 2020. In recent months, the airline’s planes have made several stops at Ferihegy but have only carried cargo.

Tickets are already available for booking until the end of the winter timetable.
