Companies in disadvantaged settlements will apply for millions of forints

Discussions have begun on development support for small and micro enterprises in disadvantaged settlements.

László György, Secretary of State for Economic Strategy and Regulation at the Ministry for Innovation and Technology (ITM), announced that the tender could help companies operating in 1,202 enterprise-free zones with an amount of between HUF 2 million and HUF 10 million. In another 162 catching-up settlements, the upper limit is HUF 60 million, but in both cases, these limits may change based on feedback.

Applications will open in early January, and both application writing and project management costs are eligible for support.

In addition to production companies, commercial, service and construction contractors can also apply for the purchase of new tools, equipment, machinery and real estate development. The amount obtained can be used additionally for employees’ salaries and training or IT developments. IFKA Iparfejlesztési Közhasznú Nonprofit Kft. will assist both the settlements and the winning participants of the program.

The government aims to increase the population-retention power of disadvantaged areas by improving the conditions for operating a business.
