The 29th CAFe Budapest Contemporary Art Festival will take place this year between October 9 and 25, providing an opportunity for participants to relax, recharge and think together. Although the full program will be released in the second week of September, some of the program elements are already known.
Choreographer-director Bence Vági and his company, Recirquel, which combines circus art and dance in the special genre of “cirquedanse,” will have a show entitled “Solus Amor” at Müpa Budapest.
Choreographer József Hámor and the Gangaray Dance Company also promise a magical experience at the National Dance Theater: AGORA II is the second chapter of the trilogy of the same title, which focuses on nine outstanding female dancers.
And once again, the Aquarium Club and CAFe Budapest will jointly bring back Down Town CAFe, with presentations dedicated to improvisation and experimentation. Meanwhile, Budapest Ritmo will perform its innovative pop-up concerts on stages set up in the city’s iconic market halls, from Hunyadi Square to Rákóczi Square.
There will also be several theatrical performances that resonate with events in the world today. Plus, the exhibition “Barabási Lab: Hidden Patterns – The Language of Network Thinking” at the Ludwig Museum will present Albert-László Barabási’s last 25 years of work in physics and network research.
