The government will allocate close to HUF 110 million to the purchase of more than 1,000 electric bikes to help individuals get to work more easily; applications can be submitted January 4-8, 2021.
As part of its Climate and Nature Conservation Action Plan, a HUF 1 billion tender was launched to support the purchase of electrically assisted bicycles and increase electromobility. In the first round in November 2020, 1,019 applications received support, with a total value of nearly HUF 110 million, the ministry announced.
The signing of sponsorship documents and the payment of subsidies are ongoing, and the winners are listed on the website of the organizer, IFKA Közhasznú Nonprofit Kft., said Péter Kaderják, Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Policy.
Applications in this round must be accompanied by proof of employment or income. The support can be provided for up to half of the sale price of the bike, up to HUF 90,000 for bicycles with pedal sensors and HUF 150,000 for bicycles with torque sensors.
IFKA will decide on the eligibility of the applicant within 20 working days, and then within another 10 working days, it will issue the support document necessary for the winners to purchase their bike.
