Budapest’s wine restaurants among best in the world

Hungary has never been on the Wine Spectator's top list before.

Fiaker Bistro & Wine Bar on Madách Square and Felix Kitchen on Ybl Miklós Square both received an Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator.

Wine Spectator has been influencing opinions in the wine industry for decades. Their global list, published annually since 1981, ranks the best wine restaurants in the world, requiring a serious selection of wines to enter.

Among their favorites for 2020, they are now showcasing 3,800 locales, with awards in three categories: Award of Excellence, Best of Award of Excellence and Grand Award.

The Fiaker Bistro & Wine Bar in Madách Square in Budapest received an international recommendation given its wide selection of wines from the countries of the former Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. According to the venue, the recognition proves that regional wines can represent a world-class standard.

The senior sommelier of Felix Kitchen stated In Wine Spectator that they hope that this prize will bring them more guests who can appreciate regional wines as well.
