Aquaticum Debrecen Strand again receives international awards
The Aquaticum Debrecen Strand was awarded in two categories at the Architecture MasterPrize competition.
The beach was among the award-winning buildings in both the Green Architecture and Recreational Architecture categories of this year’s Architecture MasterPrize 2022.
In addition, it is shortlisted for the international WAN Awards in the leisure category.
The awards, founded by World Architecture News (WAN) and World Interiors News (WIN), are being presented for the 14th time this year and will again be judged by an international jury of renowned professionals. Each year, the award recognizes the designers of innovative and imaginative buildings. The award ceremony will take place in mid-November.
Péter Bordás, owner-manager of BORD Architectural Studio, told a local newspaper that the WAN Awards are among the 10 most prestigious in Europe and that it is gratifying that the jury still considers the Aquaticum Debrecen Strand worthy of the award more than two years after its construction.
The Aquaticum Debrecen Strand was designed by BORD Architectural Studio and has already been ranked among the best by the Dutch contemporary architecture magazine “Mark.” It was featured on the cover of the Royal Institute of British Architects, the largest British architecture magazine.
