The aircraft was received at the Cargo City Air Cargo Handling Center, which was handed over in January. The cargo plane travels between the two cities once a week now, Budapest Airport said.
The importance of the new air connection is justified by the fact that a significant amount of e-commerce products from China arrive in Central and Eastern Europe directly from their place of departure. Today, Shenzhen is the most important financial and logistics center in southern China and one of the most prominent players in the electronic and IT sector, with many large companies headquartered there.
Budapest Airport expects that the new connection between Budapest and Shenzhen can strengthen economic relations. In his statement, the chief executive of the airport, Rolf Schnitzler, emphasized that he was also confident that the flights would increase the importance of the airport itself.
On the occasion of the event, it was announced that Budapest Airport considers air cargo transportation to be a key sector and will therefore continue the related development work to cater to this area.
