Starting July 7, 2022, a direct scheduled flight will once again connect the two capitals, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced.
He said that it has been more than two years since the coronavirus caused countries to close, trade chains to be disrupted, and even air links to be lost. The pandemic was a challenge that all countries had to face to regain our lives day by day, week by week, and month by month.
According to Szijjártó, the announcement is also of great importance for the Hungarian economy, as both tourism and trade will receive a huge boost with Budapest once again becoming directly accessible from the Chinese capital.
More than seven years ago, on May 1, 2015, Hungary welcomed Air China’s first direct Beijing-Budapest flight, which has continued to operate with great success, he wrote.
