9 productions can be seen at the Nagyerdei Open-Air Theater in Debrecen

Seven guest companies and two performances by the local Csokonai Theater will be staged at the Nagyerdei Open-Air Theater in Debrecen.

Mayor of Debrecen László Papp described the Nagyerdei stage as a meeting place of nature and culture, where the public will be able to enjoy the performances of the open-air theater and the Debrecen Festival from June 8 to August 23.

“The summer programs are a good opportunity to prepare for the autumn season, when the city’s new theater, the Csokonai Forum, will open,” the mayor added.

Péter Gemza, director of the Csokonai Theater, described this year’s performances in the Great Forest as a milestone in the history of their institution, as the open-air stage will be operated by Csokonai Theater from this year onwards.

Among the productions, he highlighted the dance performance of the Duna Art Ensemble in memory of Imre Makovecz, entitled “Seven Towers,” and the performance of Orlay Production entitled “Budapest, you!,” as well as the musical “Nikola Tesla – Infinite Energy,” a TBG production.

More information about the performances is available here.
