The National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) and the Design Terminal are organizing the NAK TechLab University competition for the third time with the goal of exploring untapped opportunities in agriculture and making agriculture more attractive to young people.
The competition seeks to motivate university students and young graduates to start working on innovative ideas that provide solutions to agricultural problems, Balázs Győrffy, President of NAK, said.
In the last two years, 60 percent of previous applicants came from non-agricultural areas.
The organizers are looking for teams of 2-4 people in higher education or young graduates who are interested in coming up with innovative solutions to the challenges posed by agriculture. Those interested can submit ideas or prototypes, and selected applicants will receive mentoring prior to the final round, which will take place on May 6, 2021. A professional jury will select the winners.
The main prize in both categories is a HUF 300,000 voucher for purchasing electronic equipment, agricultural mentoring and conference tickets. Selected teams will also have the opportunity to participate in the NAK TechLab incubation program starting in September.
